Lamyah K. Shaffer is a missing 14-year-old who was last seen in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas on September 20, 2022 at 9:00 AM. Her mother, who is desperate for answers, has been publicly creating awareness on her disappearance, in hopes of bringing forth clues to her whereabouts.

Shaffer has a mental illness that may have originally contributed to her disappearance.  Her mother believes that she initially ran away from home but that she would have never intentionally avoided coming home after a day or two.  She was 13 years old when she went missing, and she turned 14 in late September. Because she was vulnerable due to her age at the time she went missing, she is considered highly endangered. 

A student at Wilbur Middle School, Shaffer has a loving family who is devastated over her disappearance. Her mother has publicly stated that she is heartbroken and devoid of appetite and that she will not stop searching for answers until she is located. She is pleading with the public that if anyone has her to return her to her residence, a police station, or anywhere that is safe.

Shaffer can be described as an African American female with black hair with red highlights / dye and brown eyes.  Her height is estimated to be 5’4″, and she weighs about 170 pounds. She was last seen wearing a shirt with the shark from the movie “Jaws”, blue joggers / sweatpants, and multi-colored Crocs shoes.
