May 19, 2022 — UNDERGROUND MYSTERIES
A pair of siblings, Austin “Tyler” Mathews, 24, and Angelica “Farrine” Mathews”, 32, went missing on May 2, 2022. The pair had been residing together in various hotels since January 2022, as they were both homeless. Their last known residence is the Motel 6 in North Everett, Snohomish County, Washington. It is uncertain why they both left the motel. Austin had plans to move to Yakima, Washington to be with his girlfriend, but he did not formulate a move-in date yet, as he was trying to get some of his affairs in order before moving. The siblings were last physically seen by family in Edmonds, Snohomish County, Washington.
Prior to January, Austin and his girlfriend resided in Kirkland, Washington.
Angelica has a two-year-old daughter who was left to be cared for by her mother. It is unusual for her to go this long without tending to her child.
Austin had been working as a mechanic for a used car dealership prior to his disappearance. It is unclear whether or not Angelica had employment when they went missing. None of Austin’s nor Angelica’s contacts have heard from them since their disappearance.
Because Austin does not own a mobile device, he relies on using others’ devices when he needs to contact people. Angelica does own a mobile device; however, it has been powered off or has had a dead battery since sometime in early May. The phone is still in service. Austin’s girlfriend has been attempting to reach him via phone, to no avail.
Angelica has not been active on her Facebook page in weeks; Austin reportedly does not use his Facebook page often to begin with.
Austin and Angelica’s father and stepmother filed a missing persons report on them when they started to become concerned after not hearing from them in a few days.
Law enforcement has been thoroughly searching for the sibling pair while patrolling.
It is speculated that the pair may still be in the United States, due to the price of gas and the fact that neither of them have a passport. They could not have easily traveled north to Canada. Also, Austin and his girlfriend share a credit card, which was attempted to be used at a Home Depot on May 18 in Seattle, King County, Washington. It is unknown if the person who attempted to use this card is Austin, Angelica, or someone else. Law enforcement has been contacted regarding this matter and was asked to surveillance footage.
