Robin DeeAnn (Leak) Trivisonno, aka “Toni”, disappeared suddenly at the age of 28 under mysterious circumstances the night of January 19, 1997, after leaving an exotic dance club in Central New Jersey.

Born on June 27, 1968 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Robin and her family had moved to Southern New Jersey to a town called Pine Hill, where she later attended Overbrook High School.  Robin was likely in the class of 1986.  She was an athlete and was on the all-star baseball team in high school.  She was also a cheerleader and loved the Dallas Cowboys. 

Alarmingly, another Overbrook High School alumni, Danielle Day, suddenly vanished in 2001, just four years after Robin’s disappearance.  Was this a strange coincidence or a possibly correlation?  There are other similarities in the two cases besides them growing up locally and attending the same high school:  They are close in age (five years apart), both went missing at the age of 28, both had very similar appearances (including both having breast implants), both worked as exotic dancers, and both may have been around the same crowd. 

Robin is described as Caucasian with brown hair, hazel eyes, 5’2″ in height, and 105 pounds.  Robin’s mother had stated that she dressed as a tomboy at times.

On June 19, 1988, Robin, whose maiden name was Leak, married Robert Trivisonno.  They had met the previous year when Robin was 19 years old, while she was a waitress at a casino in Atlantic City, NJ.  They bought a house in on Bayview Drive in Absecon, NJ, where they both resided.  Later down the line, Robin and Robert had three children: Brendan (the oldest) and twins, Michael and Nicholas. 

A few years after being married, Robin and Robert separated due to financial strains. In 1996, Robin moved with her children to 124 b. North Rosborough Avenue in Ventnor, NJ, not far from Absecon.  To make ends meet, Robin began working as an exotic dancer.  Her mother did not feel this endeavor suited Robin. Robin was making a generous income and was able to begin putting herself through nursing school at Atlantic Community College.

Robin worked as an exotic dancer for approximately two years, in which she used the stage name “Toni”, at a club called Heartbreakers, located at 705 Route 35 South, Neptune, NJ.  (Side note: Heartbreakers is now called Centerfolds Gentlemen’s Club, and their website is www.centerfoldsnj.com.)

The reason Robin worked in Central NJ instead of Southern NJ is because she did not want her children to find out where she worked. 

Not long before she disappeared, Robin met a man who was a customer at her place of employment (Heartbreakers) who later became her boyfriend.  He was a lawyer, and he helped pay for her schooling and other bills.  She was able to quit dancing and focus more on her studies. She was still living in Ventnor, NJ at this time.

Although she had recently quit her dancing job, Robin went to Heartbreakers to simply visit her old coworkers or engage in a night out on January 19, 1997 (the night she went missing).  An old newspaper article made reference to her wanting to visit her “DJ friend”.  It is unclear if that comment was made before going to Heartbreakers or during her visit. Earlier in the day, Robin was said to have driven to see her boyfriend at the Monmouth County Attorney’s Office.

Now, let’s talk about what happened at Heartbreakers the night she went missing. Robin was seen walking out the club doors with an unknown male who was described as being Caucasian with very white teeth, wavy brown hair, and a suntan. The pair was seen walking into a parking lot that consisted of the Howard Johnson motel and a bowling alley.

I did research to see if there were security cameras that recorded the pair leaving, or if the statements were solely based on witnesses’ accounts. I have not been able to find out if there were security cameras.  I will update accordingly if I learn new information. 

It is said that Robin was drinking while at Heartbreakers. The club owner, Michael Landi, stated that Robin would have never driven home, and that she would have gotten a ride, like she always did when she had a drink.  He also stated that she would have not gone out late and that when she worked, she always went straight home to her children. 

After Robin was reported missing, her car was found at Heartbreakers in the same parking spot in which she arrived.

About four months after Robin’s disappearance, her wallet and jacket were located in the parking lot of another exotic dance club, Delilah’s Den (now known as Visions Gentlemen’s Club), at 31 Victory Plaza, South Amboy, NJ.  If Robin encountered foul play, it is unlikely that money or robbery was a motivator, as five hundred dollars in cash was found in her wallet.

When Robin was last seen, she was wearing a Cartier brand watch, press-on nails, silver/gold earrings, and a hair clip made of leather that had a wooden pin.

Some questions that come to my mind are:
*Was Robin’s car ever swabbed for DNA?  If so, is this DNA still available?
*If no DNA was taken, is her car still in existence to check for DNA?
*Was Robin’s jacket and/or wallet components swabbed for DNA?  If so, was this DNA entered into Codis? 

Upon researching this case to write this article, some questions came to mind regarding similarities between Robin’s case and Danielle’s case:
*Did Danielle Day happen to know a DJ as well?
*Could there be any link to these two cases? 
*Did Danielle also have a male friend who was a lawyer? 
*Was Danielle known to ever travel to South Amboy or the Monmouth County Attorney’s Office?
*Did Danielle ever work at Heartbreakers or at any dance club in Central or Northern NJ? It is said she traveled to NYC , NY to dance, so it would not be far-fetched to think she could have also danced in Central or Northern NJ.  Most exotic dancers work at several clubs if they make dancing a career.
*Did Danielle ever work at or have ties to Delilah’s Den in South Amboy?
*Did Danielle and Robin known each other in high school or have mutual friends?
