Laronda Marie Bronson was last seen at a bus stop in Portland, Oregon on November 19, 1982, when she was just 18 years old.
Laronda was about 3 to 6 months pregnant when she was last seen. (Her sister states that when she last had seen Laronda, she appeared to be about 4 or 5 months pregnant, but I kept the pregnancy length loose in case she was more or less months pregnant.)
The day that Laronda went missing, she made a phone call to her sister, who lived in Portland, OR at the time, to let her know that she was heading to her house. Laronda’s sister had Laronda’s belongings in storage at the time. Laronda never showed up at her sister’s house that day as planned, and she and her family grew worried. That is when the family filed a missing person’s report. Laronda’s sister talked to a couple of people who had been walking the street near Laronda the day she missing, who said they saw Laronda on Union Avenue, which is now known as Martin Luther King Street, where it intersects with Russell Street, in Portland. One witness stated that she saw Laronda getting in a truck with a Caucasian male.
Laronda’s sister has not changed her maiden name after she got married, in case Laronda tries to find her.
Born on September 9, 1964 in Los Angeles County, California, Laronda had eventually moved to Portland, Oregon. Her nickname was “Bird”. She always liked dancing and crafting.
There are rumors that Laronda may have gone by the alias “Michelle Marie Hall” and that she may have used a fake birthday, July 29, 1964.
It is said that Laronda was a prostitute at the time of her disappearance. Theories are afloat that she may have been a victim of the Green River Killer or Gary Leon Ridgeway.
Laronda is about 5’6″ or 5’7″ with black hair and brown eyes. She is African American. At the time she went missing, she weighed roughly 110-120 pounds and had a slim build. She also had two piercings in each ear. She has a scar on her chin and a scar on the back of her neck. When I zoom in on her photo, I can see a few freckles around her nose.
