UPDATE, September 10, 2021: Edgardo has been identified. His family came across my website while searching for him, and they reached out to both myself and Jewel through the email address I provided for her.
I am helping to circulate a story of an unidentified man who suffered amnesia, in hopes that someone will recognize him. His name is Edgar or Edgardo Villarreal. His Native American name may have been “Indio”. He may have been born in Mexico or Texas.
Edgardo developed amnesia at some point as an adult. In his lucid moments, he told his main support person his personal information. He was living with a woman named Jewel. She has pieced together all of his information that he gave her throughout the years, and she hopes to find his family to share news about Edgardo and to share stories.
Edgardo was always consistent with the date of birth he told people: February 22, 1955.
He was an avid traveler and lived a nomadic / transient lifestyle. He knew how to make weapons from scratch and play the harmonica. He also raced motorcycles in Texas in the 1980’s, he stated. He loved to read, and he knew an extensive amount of knowledge about numerous topics.
His past jobs included:
– horse training in FL, GA, and Lexington, KY;
– construction, roofing, flooring, building homes; and
– farming in numerous states (seasonally)
He also claims he was in the military and that he served in the Vietnam War at the age of 18, in the Jungle Special Forces.
He lived in North, Georgia from roughly 2006 until his death in 2020.
Edgardo’s mother may have passed away when he was a teenager or in his 20’s. Her name was Rosa Elia Izaguirre de Villarreal. Izaguirre was her maiden name. Villarreal was her married name. She was likely divorced, possibly remarried. I found her passport online, which states that in 1951 she lived at Calle 16a, between [Calle] Bustamante and [Calle] Herrera in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. It also states that she was born in Linares, Nueva Leone, Mexico, on September 16, 1931. Linares is about 4 hours by car to Matamoros. Rosa visited the USA in 1951 for pleasure and shopping. She had been living on the cuff of Brownsville, TX.
Edgardo’s father’s name was likely Roberto Villarreal.
It is presumed that Edgardo was a missing person for several years. He stated that he was married to a lady named Mireya Hernandez Vasquez and that they had a son named Noah Israel Vasquez.
At this point, Edgardo’s parents are presumed deceased. However, it is uncertain if he had any siblings. And Jewel would like to connect with his ex-wife, child, or any cousins and siblings (if they exist).
Jewel can be reached at Jewelbarry1083@gmail.com.
- entrenamiento de caballos en FL, GA y Lexington, KY;
