[Update on 3/23/21: Weston called to check in with law enforcement to let them know he’s alive, but he has not made any contact with his family. Please report any sighting of him, as he’s still an endangered adult due to his mental illness.]

Weston Scott Carter is a 24-year-old man who went missing on March 20, 2020 in Santa Monica, California. Born on November 2, 1996, Weston grew up in Norris City, Illinois. He traveled to Santa Monica, Los Angeles County around January or February of 2019 with a female friend. His friend left him in CA alone, as she decided to move back home. Weston then became homeless. Because he has a history of mental illness and drug addiction, he is considered a highly endangered adult. On March 20, 2020, he contacted his mother via Facebook Messenger. That was the last time that she or any of his other family members or friends heard from him.

A few people have come forth to state they may have seen him in Lampac, CA at Walmart. It is uncertain if it was Weston or someone who resembles him.

Physical description:
◯ Hair: Blonde or strawberry blonde. Sometimes kept short, sometimes kept long. Mostly straight but may have a body wave to it.
◯ Facial Hair: May have a beard and a mustache.
◯ Skin color: Caucasian, fair to medium skin tone.
◯ Eyes: Hazel. (They may also appear gray, light brown, with a hint of blue or green.)
◯ Height: 6’1″ – 6’2″
◯ Weight: 180 lbs.
◯ Tattoos: A tattoo that says “CARTER” (in capital letters) on the inner left forearm; a Nirvana face possibly on the upper left forearm; a marijuana leaf on his upper right arm/ bicep; and a skull on the upper right arm/ bicep. Whether or not he has any other tattoos is uncertain.
◯ Scars: Burn scar on right thumb. Scar under right eye.

Weston enjoys skateboarding and hanging out at the pier.

Weston’s mother has been desperately trying to find him. She states that it is out of Weston’s character for him to not contact his family. She had tried to make a missing person report last year, but she was not taken seriously. She finally was successful at being able to file a formal report in February of 2021. Since so much time has passed since Weston went missing versus when a formal report was made, I am going to tag this case as an “underrepresented missing person case”. Also, there is very little information on this case online, except for in two Facebook groups. I am including as many details to his story as possible on this website, since Law Enforcement often uses this site to search for matches to John Doe’s. I also will help search for him myself. I will circulate his story as well. Hopefully this help his case gain popularity. By the time you may be reading this, his name may be found on other missing person sites.
