Michael James DeMaria, Jr. went missing on October 14, 1976 at the age of 28 from the Manhattan section of New York City, New York. He was last seen leaving his apartment building.
DeMaria was born on November 6, 1947 in New York City, New York to Michael R. DeMaria (1917-2005) and Margaret (Pisano) DeMaria (1921-1994).
When DeMaria was last seen he had brown hair, but if he is still alive today, there is a possibility his hair may have turned gray. He weighed about 180 pounds at the time of his disappearance. He is 5’11” in height, and he has dimples and abdominal scars. His race is Caucasian, and he is of Italian heritage.
About 3 years prior to DeMaria’s disappearance, he committed an armed robbery of a tractor trailer. His penalty involved up to ten years in prison. This article lists that his residence at the time was 244 Elizabeth Street, also in Manhattan.
In October of 1973, DeMaria’s father, Michael R. DeMaria, Sr., a police officer, was noted as a witness to a fight involving his son, nephew, and another person.
It is uncertain under what pretense DeMaria vanished. Was he abducted? Was he hiding from the law? Was he still committing crimes and involved with the wrong crew?
