Barbara Ann Richardson went missing from St. Louis, Missouri in about 1986 or 1987 when she was 21 or 22 years old. At the time of her disappearance, she lived with her large family of 11 members in the north side of St. Louis. Barbara’s sister, Delisa Richardson (the 9th child and her closest confidant), describes Barbara as her best friend and states that she would not have left willingly.
Barbara was last seen on foot around the Euclid and Thekla intersection near Kings Highway in St. Louis, possibly while heading to or from work. Delisa recalls walking Barbara to the Kings Highway bus stop, where Barbara would normally catch a bus to work. Barbara did not have any children at the time of her disappearance. She was not married, and it is believed that she was not dating anyone.
Barbara’s family reported her missing when she didn’t return home, but the case eventually went cold. It is unknown if her case still has an active police report. Up until now, there has not been any media presence on her case. This is the first media publication on her disappearance, and I hope others will share her story to bring new light to this socially stale case.
Delisa Richardson fears her sister may have been the victim of foul play or an abduction. Over the years, she has expressed concern that Barbara’s disappearance could be connected to the East St. Louis serial killer who was found dead in his jail cell after reportedly leading police to burial sites of victims.
Born on March 30, 1966, Barbara would be 59 years old if alive in present day. Her last known address is 5215 N. Euclid Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63115.
