It has been over 14 years since Kacey Lynn Prim vanished from her hometown of Audubon, Camden County, New Jersey. She was just 23 years old at the time of her disappearance with her life ahead of her. Despite numerous tips, public awareness efforts, and media attention, her case remains unsolved.
Kacey was last seen on leaving her residence on foot on January 4, 2011. She didn’t take her purse, ID, or any belongings, which could suggest she intended to return shortly. The next day, she briefly called her mother, apologizing for being out late and saying she would be home soon. That phone call was the last confirmed contact anyone had with her. It is unknown how she planned on getting back to her residence.
The weather was cold outside on January 5th, the day her mother last heard from her, with a high of 38°F and a low of 28°F.
Prior to Kacey’s disappearance, she was making strides in rebuilding her life. She was attending community college with dreams of becoming a physical education teacher. Her family described her as bright, warm, and deeply loved.
Unfortunately, there is a lack of physical evidence in Kacey’s case. Back in 2011, outdoor video cameras were not as common in residential areas as they are in present day. There was also no evidence that Kacey called anyone for a ride on the day of her disappearance. There was no evidence of credit/bank card usage. Her disappearance occurred in broad daylight, with no witnesses and no trace left behind.
There were unconfirmed sightings of Kacey in Camden, NJ and West Philadelphia in the weeks after she vanished, including one possible sighting near the 5800 block of Arch Street. However, none of these reports led to her recovery, and investigators have not identified any suspects or persons of interest. The Audubon Police Department and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office continue to investigate Kacey’s disappearance.
Born on October 9, 1987, Kacey would be 37 years old at the time of this publication. She is a Caucasian female who is 5’9″ in height, and she weighed approximately 105 to 125 pounds at the time of her disappearance. She has blue eyes and dirty blonde / strawberry blonde hair. She often dyed her hair in various colors. She has a tattoo of a butterfly on her right hip. As for piercings, she may have been wearing a diamond studded nose ring at the time of her disappearance. Her NamUs profile suggests that she may have been wearing blue denim jeans, a gray sweatshirt, and black and white sneakers.
Kacey’s loved ones continue to hold out hope that someone, somewhere, knows something. Her mother sadly passed away, never knowing what happened to her daughter. Her family runs a Facebook group to continue to create awareness and search for clues in her disappearance.
