Karen Elizabeth Snyder is an unreported missing person who vanished in about January of 2002 from Mobile, Alabama when she was 14 years old.
Born on July 18, 1987, Snyder can be described as a Caucasian female with blonde or strawberry blonde hair. Her eye color may appear green, blue, or hazel.
Snyder grew up with many siblings, all of whom are searching for her and want to be reunited with her. Snyder’s mother has also been actively searching for her. At the time of her disappearance, her loved ones believed that she ran away. Now that over 20 years have passed, they are hopeful for any clues.
I have spoken with a few of Snyder’s family members, who helped me piece together her timeline. Snyder was in foster care in Mobile County, Alabama when she went missing. Snyder showed up to her mother’s house in Theodore, Alabama and asked to get some clothing. Her mother did not realize she was running away at the time. A few days later, two officers had shown up to Snyder’s mother’s house to inform her that she had run away with the same male she had seen.
Snyder was presumably a ninth-grader at Williamson High School at the time of her disappearance. She may have only been at this school for a month or two, as she attended Theodore High School from September to December of 2002. Karen has an older sister who was in the same grade as her, as they are very close in age, and she reports that they had both attended the JROTC dance grade in ninth grade at Theodore High School. Snyder was only with her foster family for about one or two months before she vanished.
Although authorities were alerted in Snyder’s disappearance, there is no official missing persons report in her case due to the belief that she was a runaway at the time of her disappearance. Now that so many years have passed and there are no public records found on Snyder, her family is wondering what happened to her and are hoping for answers to here whereabouts.
