Raymond Padilla — missing from New York City

Update: I learned that his family did get in touch with the correct department months ago, so I no longer need any information to give to law enforcement.  They should have it all.

If you are a relative of Raymond “Papo” Padilla, the missing man from New York, please contact me at http://www.undergroundmysteries.com/contact. I have a tip on him and can’t reach family, and the law enforcement needs more information to put the tip through. (I originally saw his story shared by his grand niece on Reddit.) I’m hoping someone will search his name on the web and find this post. I won’t be circulating this post on social media, and I will erase it after I hear from someone who knows Raymond. For reference, I am a missing person activist, and I help search for missing people.

  1. I was in contact with his great-niece on Reddit several months back. She doesn’t appear to have been active in a while and I believe there was a death in the family recently. If your tip is about the John Doe found on Coney Island later that month, I was planning on calling it in tomorrow but hearing that LE aren’t responsive…ugh.

    1. Thank you so much for reaching out to me, btw. I hope we can get her to somehow compare DNA. I don’t think they have the man’s DNA, but I do think they have his fingerprints.

    2. Also, they wanted more info from her. They needed to see if they have access to his old dental records, things like that. I said I didn’t know if they had any dentals from that long ago. Do you happen to know?

      1. Not to my knowledge, but maybe there are smiling photos of him? Would be great if they could get prints of his off something of his. Since they just entered the case in NAMUS, I highly doubt there’s DNA.

  2. Yes, I called it in and informed the medical examiner and police officer, but they are asking for more information on him. I told them his DOB and they want to take DNA. I did message her again as well, but I didn’t hear back.
