Case solved!
I was able to locate Jose Cortes Rivera, who was last seen in 2012 when he was 42 years old. I wanted to write about this case because it had not received much public awareness. Jose was tragically struck by a vehicle as a pedestrian when he went missing. However, he remained unidentified as a John Doe until recently, when I found his NamUs profile and started searching for his identity. I was able to identify him as the aforementioned missing man, Rivera.
I published a sponsored advertisement in Ponce, PR where his family lived, as I was unable to reach them via social media. I then sent them letters in the postal mail.
