Los Angeles, CA — The family members of Pablo “Danny” Gonzalez Herrera, a California man who vanished in 2009, renew their plea for information on his whereabouts.
Pablo, who was 29 years old at the time of his disappearance, was last in contact with his sister on February 28, 2009. In present day, he would be 45 years old and turning 46 in January of 2026. Despite years of searching, visiting former residences, contacting acquaintances, and even hiring a private investigator, the family has not received a single confirmed sighting or communication from Pablo since his final phone call.
This is as highly underrepresented missing person case, and I hope to shed light onto his disappearance.
“I haven’t lost hope,” his sister wrote in a Facebook post. “I would love to connect with him at the very least and know that he’s okay. Truly feels like a huge chunk of my heart is missing,” she shared.
Pablo was born on January 19, 1980, in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico, and he later lived throughout Southern California, including neighborhoods in Los Angeles, Bell Gardens, and Whittier.
According to his family, Pablo is silly, sweet, artistic, expressive, an amazing artist, and a talented drummer.
As for his physical description, he is a Hispanic male who is about 5’6″ in height and weighed about 150 pounds when he was last seen. He has short black hair above his ears and brown eyes. Both of his ears were pierced when he was last seen. He also has two tattoos on his back: one that says “Travieso” and another of a dragon. He may have two scars: one on an unspecified eyebrow and another under his eye (likely his right eye). It is said that he may have been missing at least one tooth when he was last seen. He has a past history of a broken elbow. Pablo’s sister stated that he loved wearing hats.
Pablo does not have a middle name. His mother’s maiden name is Gonzalez, and his father’s last name is Herrera.
At the time of Pablo’s disappearance, he was cycling in and out of group homes and rehabilitation centers, many of which were connected to Victory Outreach. He typically traveled by foot and used prepaid phones, which he often discarded within days. Although he lived a transient lifestyle, he was in frequent contact with his loved ones. It is believed he would have not intentionally ceased communication with his family. His level of vulnerability is high due to his homelessness and other life circumstances.
