Today I present to you the case of Minnie Lou (Benton) Daniel, a woman whose family states that she has not been seen or heard from since the 1940s or the 1950s. She was last seen in Central Georgia in an unknown town. Her exact date or even year of disappearance is unknown. Minnie’s granddaughter, Ursula Daniel, posted to an Ancestry.com forum looking to see if anyone had any clues to her whereabouts. She stated that Minnie has been missing since 1945. Minnie’s grandson posted to Facebook stating that she went missing in the 1950s. So, please keep an open mind about when she went missing.
At the time of this publication, there have not been any news articles or awareness posts on her disappearance, besides the family pleas on social media. I wanted to give her case the spotlight, in hopes it can help bring forth clues to what happened to her. This Underground Mysteries’ publication is the first on her disappearance. I have searched through archives to piece together some of her story. I have also spoken with her family members, who are desperate for answers and have never given up searching for her. Currently, Minnie Lou Daniel does not have a current missing person case in Middle, Georgia. She is considered an “unreported missing person,” even if her loved ones did report her missing in the 1940s or 1950s. Because it has been so long, her case file may have been lost, destroyed, or purged.
At the time of Minnie Lou (Benton) Daniel’s disappearance, she would have been in her twenties or thirties. She was born in 1920, according to a 1930 census, which is included at the bottom of this publication.
I was unable to locate a missing person profile for Minnie Lou (Benton) Daniel in any missing person database, so I added her to Underground Mysteries’ unreported missing person database. When Minnie vanished, she was married to Solomon Daniel. Her parents’ names were William Benton and Odessa Benton.
Minnie Lou (Benton) Daniel can be described as an African American female with black brown hair and brown eyes. Her height is unknown at this time.
