Timothy A. Borden mysteriously vanished on October 25, 2014, while taking a walk near his East Side apartment complex in Buffalo, NY, at the age of 50.
Timothy, also known as “Tim”, is a highly endangered adult. Years prior to his disappearance, he suffered a serious brain aneurysm, which rendered him disabled. He cannot verbally speak. He communicates by using hand gestures and signals. For example, he may use the “thumbs up” gesture to signify “yes”, and he may use the “thumbs down” gesture to signify “no”. He also often would write on paper to communicate. Keep in mind that Timothy can still hear and listen.
Relying on medication for survival is another reason why Timothy is endangered and at high risk of a medical incident. He did not take any medication with him when he went for a walk.
Timothy was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt. He is approximately 5’11” – 6’1″ tall and 130-150 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. Oftentimes he has a slight beard and mustache. He is African American. He usually wears glasses.
Melissa Everette was the last person to see Timothy. She was his caregiver. Timothy often took a walk around his neighborhood. The last time he went for a walk, he never returned home. This was out of character for Timothy. It is suspected he met with foul play, or got lost and succumbed to the elements, or had a medical event and could not get medical help in time. He may still be alive, wandering around as a transient, lost and confused.
A wallet and jacket were found by Buffalo Police in South Buffalo near the Buffalo River, a few miles away from where he went missing. These items were found to belong to Timothy. The river was searched by the Underwater Recovery Team; however, Timothy was not found.
Born on March 29, 1962, Timothy attended Burgard High School. He went on to join the military. He later became a car mechanic, and, at the time of his disappearance, he could still diagnose car issues by writing the problems down on paper. He was still able to do many physical tasks. After spending over a month in the hospital a few years prior to his disappearance, he took speech therapy at Buffalo State College.
Timothy’s family is worried sick about him. He has four children, several siblings, and six grandchildren. His youngest sibling, Melissa Everette, was his caregiver and enjoyed being there for him. Although he lived alone when he went missing, she lived close by. She watched him walk home every day. She filed a missing person’s report the day he went missing, but Timothy is still unreported in Namus. Timothy’s sister has been searching through unidentified remains for years. The family had a large sign hung at the place his belongings were found.
I always use extensive SEO keyword tagging with my articles, in case law enforcement is trying to match a Doe to one of the cases I write about. Upon looking at a map to see exactly where Timothy’s belongings were found, I notice it is right by the cuff of the USA/Canada border. I purposely tagged a variety of nearby places that he may have wandered to, or even been found as unidentified remains. I tagged the bodies of water as well. I also made tags for dates in both Canada and USA formats.
Some questions that come to my mind with this case are as follows: Did Timothy have a phone on him at the time of his disappearance? If so, did law enforcement ping this phone? Did he have an email address connected to this phone? Was his phone (if applicable) tracked? Did Timothy frequent this river area, or was it out of character for him?
